Scene: The Battle of Fork
by archivist
Panoramic battle scene. A massive gladiatorial arena in the city of Fork — tiered stone seating packed with a roaring crowd. Sand floor stained with old blood. Banners of the Arena Masters hang from iron poles.
In the centre of the arena, the party of Nemesis fights as a unit against impossible odds. Key figures visible:
A huge barbarian (Guts) in the foreground, greatsword mid-swing, cutting through a monstrous opponent. His mechanical arm sparks with energy.
A small rogue (Lyra) mid-air, inverted, daggers flashing — she’s already behind her target before it knows she moved.
A paladin (Kaial) holding the line, golden aura radiating outward, sun blade blazing. He is the wall nothing gets past.
A fire giant (Lux) towering over everything, swinging a massive weapon, his Aasimar ghost-self flickering around him like an afterimage.
A ranger (Arawn) loosing arrows from the back, each one trailing starlight from his galaxy-matter arms.
A cleric (Alora) behind a shimmering barrier of divine light, hands raised, keeping everyone alive through sheer will and prayer.
A psi warrior (Reaghl) deflecting attacks with telekinetic force, expression unreadable, deadly efficient.
Around them: the bodies of fallen monsters, cracked arena floor, dust and blood in the air. The crowd is on its feet. These gladiators were supposed to die. They didn’t.
