Rod of Seven Parts

A piece of this Rod is central to the current arc. Ties the Against the Giants storyline into the Vecna, Eve of Ruin campaign.

What We Know

• A piece of the Rod was held at the Hill Giant Stronghold
• The Giants were using a forge to heat the Rod piece with bellows
• They were imbuing it with Refined Residuum
• The Giants forced [[Durrak Stoneforge]], a Duergar master smith in the tradition of Durgeddin the Black (Forge of Fury), to work at the Star Forge
• The goal: forge the Hammer That Breaks the World
• Nemesis stole the Rod piece after it was heated up, and Lux teleported away with it

Connection to Vecna

• The Rod is connected to Allabar (the Red Moon) and Vecna
• Vecna and Allabar knew the Rod was stolen and punished the Fire King — Far Realm creatures invaded and possessed fire giant bodies
• The Fire King is dead — turned inside out
• The Rod was being used at the Star Forge to forge the Hammer That Breaks the World
• This bridges the Against the Giants arc into the Vecna, Eve of Ruin campaign (L14)

Current Status

• The Rod piece is in Nemesis’s possession (Lux stole it)
• The Star Forge still exists — the Duergar blacksmith is chained there
• Unknown if the forging can proceed without the Rod, or if Vecna has other plans
