The Opposable Force

A group of 8 high-level Paladins who have each taken the Oath of the Crown. An elite mounted guard force in Highpoint.

Purpose

• Each Paladin is assigned a Steward from the [[Council of Stewards]] to protect with their life
• Members are also sworn to defend each other’s Steward and each other member of the Force
• All members are Mounted Combatants

Current Status

Following the [[Queen’s Declaration]], Queen Reeny:

• Disbanded the Council of Stewards — removing the Force’s original protectees
• Ordered all members of the Opposable Force into immediate servitude of the Monarch
• All Oaths are now directed to the Crown and the Milford Monarchy

Their original duty (protecting Stewards) no longer exists. They now serve Queen Reeny directly.

• Clifton the Righteous has Inspiring Leader on top of Mounted Combatant — he’s likely the de facto leader
• The Oath of the Crown’s Channel Divinity and aura abilities make them excellent protectors — could be allies or enemies depending on where their loyalty lands
