Thornwick (town)

by archivist

A market town of roughly 400 souls, sitting at the crossroads between the northern mining settlements and the southern farmlands. Built around a central market square with a well. The temple bell rings at dawn and dusk without fail.

Key buildings

  • The Crossroads Inn (north side of the square) — the town's beating heart
  • Temple of the Dawnfather (east) — modest, well-kept
  • Alderman's Hall (west) — seat of the town's magistrate
  • The well — centre of the square, where gossip is exchanged
  • Craftsmen and homes spread outward from the square

What lies beyond

  • North: The Greymoor. Marshland, fog, will-o'-wisps. Old stories of things that don't come back.
  • East: Farmland, then forest. The Old Road leads to larger towns.
  • South: More farms. The Henwick River provides irrigation.
  • West: Hills, then the Cairnwood. Abandoned mines from generations past.
